Indivisible: Garden State Values is a non-partisan civic group based in and around Clinton Township, NJ.  It started with eight neighbors on January 1, 2017, who opposed the political agenda advancing through President Trump’s and their own state and local administrations, and it grew to include hundreds of citizens from throughout the NJ-7 district and beyond who rallied around the shared ideal that we and our representatives should value Truth and Equality for all.  The main goal for the group is holding government representatives at all levels accountable to their own constituents, and increasing a public awareness of those politicians’ actions, statements and voting records to inform people’s votes and political activity.

The despair that keeps coming up is a loss of belief that the struggle is worthwhile…Resistance is first of all a matter of principle and a way to live, to make yourself one small republic of unconquered spirit.  You hope for results but don’t depend on them. And if you study the historical record, there have been results, as surprising as Czechoslovakia’s 1989 Velvet Revolution, and there will be more, though they are in the dark, beyond what can be expected.  –Rebecca Solnit, “Hope in the Dark”
